Turmeric: beyond the kitchen and into the shower

Why we use turmeric: Although it’s best known for culinary uses, turmeric (a.k.a. Indian Saffron) has also been used for medicinal purposes since at least 1900 BC.
The cylindrical roots of the turmeric plant range in color from yellow to orange making it a natural colorant in our soaps (which is great because we always avoid synthetic colorants)!
Turmeric can be used in soap, skin care, and hair care.
At Lodge Creek Soap Co., we use finely ground organic turmeric powder to design soaps for anti-aging, treating psoriasis and eczema, diminishing acne, and soothing skin inflammation.
We made a batch of turmeric goats milk soap and it’s almost ready. We’re really excited about this one and can’t wait to share it with you.
