Corticosteroids or Calendula

When our youngest son was born with patches of eczema and hyperkeratosis (patches of scaly skin), one pediatrician recommended a prescription for a topical steroid ointment.
The side effects totally freaked me out! No parent wants to slather harmful chemicals all over their baby’s skin, right?

In comes calendula. The powdered flowers or the extracted oils can be used in lotions, balms, and soaps.

At Lodge Creek, we add organic calendula to many of our soaps & our customers battling skin problems the way our baby used to tell us that they love it for its skin soothing properties.
